I tested the Patterns for Pirates Take the Plunge Swimsuit. I was super excited to add this vintage inspired one piece to my swimsuit collection. I spend most of my summer free time in bodies of water, and have the swimsuit wardrobe to support that lifestyle. The "Take The Plunge Swimsuit" has several options, one even hacks the pattern into a high waisted bikini. I chose to sew up the regular bottoms and full backed version. I did my normal swayback adjustment and lengthening for the torso. I didn't add any cups, but the instructions included that option. The gathered bust was flattering enough for me to go without, that and I'm not scared of anyone knowing I have nipples, so I skipped adding a molded cup.
The suit is fully lined, and the outer fabric is a swim knit from Joann's. It's finished using 1/4th inch swim elastic. It also holds up well in the water! While not the quickest sew, swim fabric never is, I think it the end result makes it worth the extra time!
