P4P Spring Capsule Challenge: 3/9 Free Spirit Tunic
I'm on a roll guys! I've got 3/9 of my mini spring capsule complete. I'm finished up #4, and it's a doozy. But let's talk about #3 shall we? This is the only pattern I purchased to complete this challenge. It's the Free Spirit Tank. I made it without any adjustments, besides evening out the hem a bit. I didn't realize that the dress length hem met a bit lower on the sides, creating a slightly curved hemline in the front and back that was just short enough to probably have a decent amount of accidental butt flashing. So instead of being a dress as intentioned, I fully committed to tunic length.
I really love the racer back option. I'm pretty broad shouldered, but actually love the way I look in a racer back, which only highlights how broad they are. But I like them, so whatever. The fabric is a 4-way stretch rayon that is so comfy to wear. I'm also getting decent and sewing on knit bands and topstitching with my twin needle. Although I wouldn't be mad if I won the cover stitch machine that's one of the prizes for the capsule challenge. I can only imagine how quickly everything would zip together after that.
I can see myself making a lot of these tanks this summer when I live in racer backs and jean shorts. I might even have an alteration of these coming up in the capsule challenge.
